Each display keeps its own layout, in landscape or portrait. Drag a window straight onto a window on another display to swap them.
Saved layouts
Save a layout you use often. Open saved layouts with Ctrl + Cmd + X, then assign a shortcut to recall it.
Interactive demo
Give one window more room without losing sight of the others. Two to four windows arrange automatically. One window stays free-floating. With more than four, the first four stay tiled and the rest float freely. Drag a title bar onto another window to swap, or move a shared edge to resize.

Tiles is a window-management project in development for Mac, built around arranging, swapping and resizing windows together. This page introduces the workflow through an animated scene and an interactive example.
It means adjusting neighbouring windows along their shared edge. As one window becomes wider, the space beside it becomes narrower. Try the divider in the interactive example to see the relationship.
macOS already lets you arrange windows using edge dragging, layouts and shortcuts. The workflow shown here focuses on adjusting a group of windows after they’re arranged: changing their proportions and swapping their places.
